About the Program – "Image Magic" With more than 26 years experience in creating images for corporate, advertising and editorial
clients, Bill's objective is to help other photographers succeed in the face of rapid changes in our industry. In his program, Martinelli will show how studios both large and small can increase creativity, sales and
productivity through the use of digital imaging. He will discuss and demonstrate how his studio uses Photoshop and other tools to create, composite, repair, and output images.
Bill's knowledge and experience
with digital technology goes back into the early 90's – making him almost a pioneer in the short span of time that electronic imaging has been a practical reality. Bill observed that, "Our market was changing, and
frankly, the average job was getting a little boring. By 1994 he jumped in deep – making the financial commitment to add full, in-house digital capability to capture, manipulate, output, and archive images.
Martinelli comments, "We now have a whole new creative venue to explore, experiment, innovate, and better serve our customers. This technology hasn't just changed the way we work, it's changed the work itself. We keep
fresh and stay challenged – and we have more to offer our our rushed and image-savvy clients than we did before. There's a lot of pressure in the commercial marketplace to change and evolve."
Martinelli's
tools include a Management Graphics film recorder, Fujix Pictrography 3000 printer, Hewlett-Packard 2500 printer, Scanview Drum Scanner, Leaf DBC-II Live and Phase One Powerphase digital backs, and several MAC and PC
computers.
