Summer 1999 The Professional Photographers of America (PPA) awarded Bill Martinelli the Master Artist (MA) degree. He earned this degree by demonstrating his skills in the use
of digital retouching. He is one of only two persons in the world to have earned all degrees offered by PPA.
Seven images by Jeff Sladcik and Bill Martinelli were accepted for exhibit in the 108th International
Exposition of Professional Photography in Atlanta, GA. The work was shown at the Georgia World Congress Center, July 25-27. The images displayed were selected by a panel of 47 eminent photographers from the U.S. and
Great Britain.
Bill Martinelli was honored with the Electronic Imaging Artist of the Year award from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). His image, annual report illustration, is part of the
permanent Loan Collection of the PPA.
Julie Olson presented lectures on digital photography for professional photography associations in Chicago, Illinois and Riverside, California.
Winter 1999 Martinelli Studios hosted a seminar on Digital Photography for
the Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area (PPGBA). The workshop included discussion of digital photography and its applications for commercial photographers, an overview of equipment and a demonstration of
Live Picture software.
Julie Olson was the featured speaker at a monthly meeting of the Professional Photographers of the Monterey Bay Area. Her presentation covered the business aspects of implementing digital
technology into a photographic studio.
Fall 1998 Julie Olson was appointed chairman of the Professional Photographers of America TRAK committee. TRAK, Technology to Recover Abducted Kids, uses photographs to help to reunite missing
children with their families.
Summer 1998 Julie Olson and Bill Martinelli presented lectures on digital photography to the annual conference of the Professional Photographers of Florida.
Bill Martinelli was a
featured speaker at the Professional Photographers of America International Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Martinelli Studios hosted an evening workshop on Commercial and Digital Photography for the
Association of Minority Professional Photographers.
Spring 1998 Julie Olson and Bill Martinelli presented lectures on digital photography to the annual conference of the Professional Photographers of the Bahamas.
Winter 1998 Martinelli Studios web site was selected as a finalist in the
Professional Photographers of America An-Ne marketing competition for Internet Promotion.
Fall 1997 Julie Olson was elected Secretary for the Professional Photographers of the Greater Bay Area, a 270-member association.
Summer 1997 Julie Olson received the Master of Electronic Imaging Degree from the
Professional Photographers of America, recognizing her proficency in digital photography. As of this date, fewer than 25 persons worldwide had attained this achievement and Ms. Olson was only the second woman to receive
this prestigious designation.
Spring 1997 Bill Martinelli was a featured artist in the "The Visible Spectrum," College of San Mateo Alumni Exhibition in Belmont, California. |
