I want to send/bring you a digital file, what do I need to give you? Incomplete files may cause delays and may incur additional charges. Please read the
below information carefully. If in doubt, give us a call! We'll be glad to talk you through what you need to provide to us.
General Information If your digital document file is complex (more than a single image): • Save the file in its native format (such as Illustrator or Quark). • Be sure to include all placed images, logos, and other graphics. •
Images that are rotated, skewed or scaled should be done so in their native format (such as Photoshop or Illustrator). • Photoshop files should not have any channels and layers should be flattened. •
Do NOT compress images. •
To avoid unwanted font substitution from Windows applications, use only standard fonts that came with the native program. Macintosh users should include both screen and printer Postscript fonts (please do not use True Type fonts). For Quark documents, we recommend the use of
Flight Check software. •
Print out and include a file directory from the disk. •
Provide a sample hard copy printout of the file (in color if a color image).
Compatibility We can read and write files from both MACs and PCs on ZIP, floppy, Syquest 44/88/200, JAZ, CD, and magneto-optical 128/230 media.
Standard program files we
accept include Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark, and Powerpoint. Please inquire as to our compatibility with other software.
Powerpoint and Presentation Slides
I need a 35mm slide For best results, Photoshop files should be in RGB color mode at 4,096 x
2,736 pixels, landscape orientation for a full frame slide. Files that do not fill the frame will have black borders in one dimension. If your file is smaller, do not "res it up." Our film recorder software
can be set to produce a 35mm from a smaller file, it will "res up" the file for you, and do a better job of it than you could with Photoshop.
For best results, Illustrator documents to be output to 35mm
slides should be sized in landscape orientation at 11" x 7.33." Convert any fonts to outlines to prevent any conflicts.
I need a 4x5 transparency For best results, Photoshop files should be in RGB color mode at 8,192 pixels by 6,144 pixels,
landscape orientation for a full frame transparency. Files that do not fill the frame will have black borders in one dimension. If your file is smaller, do not "res it up." Our film recorder software can be set to
produce a 4" x 5" from a smaller file, it will "res up" the file for you, and do a better job of it than you could with Photoshop.
For best results, Illustrator documents to be output to 4x5
transparencies should be sized in landscape orientation at 10" x 8." Convert any fonts to outlines to prevent any conflicts.
I need Fujix Pictrography prints (up to 8 1/2" x 11") For best results, Photoshop files should be in RGB color mode at 320 dpi at
the desired dimensions of the final print.
The common sizes are: 4" x 5" = 1,280 x 1,600 pixels 5" x 7" = 1,600 x 2,240 pixels 8" x 10" = 2,560 x 3,200 pixels
8" x 11" = 2,720 x 3,520 pixels Maximum image size is 2745 x 3767 pixels
I need a large format print
For best results, Photoshop files should be in either RGB or CMYK color modes at 150 dpi at the desired dimensions of the final print.
